In August we announced updates coming to new memberships purchased in iOS starting in November of this year, and details on what this means for creators on first-of-the month and per-creation billing models, who will need to migrate to subscription billing.
Apple is requiring Patreon to move over to Apple’s in-app purchase system in order for the Patreon app to remain available in the App Store. Apple’s in-app purchase system only supports Patreon’s subscription billing model, so all creators are required to eventually switch to that billing model.
CREATORS ON CHARGE UP FRONT and NON-CHARGE UP FRONT BILLING:
If you are currently on a first-of-the-month billing model such as Charge Up Front or Non-Charge Up Front, Apple does not support your billing model and you need to switch to subscription billing.
We know this is a big change, so we want you to have control over when you make the switch, but if you do not update your settings by November 1st you will be automatically migrated to subscription billing.

You must take action before November 1, 2024 if you want to delay switching to subscription billing until November 2025. If you delay, you can always change your mind and switch any time before November 2025.

If you don’t take any action, you will automatically switch to subscription billing in November 2024.
To delay your switch, update your settings by November 1, 2024.
CREATORS ON PER-CREATION BILLING
If you are currently on a per-creation billing model, you will have until November 2025 to migrate to subscription billing, and will not be automatically switched until then.
Due to the differences between how per-creation and subscription billing work, the migration process requires one-to-one support from Patreon’s Product Support team.
