On Subscribestar, they allow us to create a Free Tier for $0. I can then check that a subscriber is “active” and at “0 cents”, allowing them to see content meant for my free members, which is basically anything not “public”, but still free.
On Patreon, we can’t make a Free Tier. Instead, we have free members… but as far as I can tell, a free member does not show as “active” as a Patron, and therefore, no way to even know they are supposed to receive free member content. The is_follower was deprecated. I tried checking currently entitled tiers, but it only shows for paid tiers.
Right now, I just assume anyone logging into my website with Patreon is an active member, and simply check their entitled cents, which is not so fair to the Subscribestar members, who actively need to be on the right tier.
So is there anyway to check if a user is actually a free member?
