Patreon subscriptions via API redirect for +18

Hey folks — has anyone run into this issue with Patreon subscriptions via API redirect?

We’re redirecting users from our website to Patreon’s subscription (pledge) page using the API. Our Patreon account is marked 18+. What’s happening is:

  • The user is redirected correctly to the Patreon subscription page

  • If they don’t already have a Patreon account, they create one

  • Patreon then sends them straight to the subscription page

  • But when they click the subscription button — nothing happens

  • No error, no message — the page just stalls

After some digging, I realized it was related to age verification. Once I went into the new Patreon account’s dashboard and confirmed 18+ content access, the same stalled subscription page started working immediately.

So it looks like the subscription page doesn’t prompt for age verification, and just silently blocks the action.

Has anyone found a proper fix or workaround for this? Ideally there should be an age-verification step or message directly on the subscription page.
