Hi there! I’m new to the Patreon API. I installed the “Patreon Wordpress” By Patreon plugin on my WP site. When I click “Let’s Start” and it takes me to:
https://www.patreon.com/oauth2/authorize-client-creation?client_id=…
Then I click “Allow”
It goes to (my site url)/patreon-authorization/?code=…
It shows a 404 error.
Does it need to create the directory /patreon-authorization/ or some sort of redirect? What’s going on here. Any workarounds?
Have you changed the permalink structure to “post name”? You can do this in “Settings → Permalinks”, make sure to hit “Save Changes”.
If you head to the plugin’s “health check” page, it would mention the permalinks as an issue.
Thank you! Somehow I missed that. Changing permalinks fixed it. I was following the “Start” guide at support.patreon.com and the messages at the top of the admin screen.
