Looping login issue

My patrons aren’t being allowed access to the gated posts. They get this:

and then when they click “allow” it just sends them back to the (still locked) gated post, ad infinitum.

I tried deleting the client and forcing a reconnection, but it didn’t help. I don’t have any caching plugins.

WP 5.6.2 with PHP 7.3.27
Patreon WordPress 1.7.1 with API v2
Patreon Button, Widgets and Plugin 2.0.9

I have had that problem for months now. Only to certain patrons. Drives me crazy. I finally had to make a special page to log in with password for those that can’t get in through Patreon. Very frustrating :flushed:

The errors seem to be related to post sync.

Have you tried force-reconnecting your WP site to Patreon?

In the case of odd situations with some patrons having this problem, try to acquire info on the patron like whether s/he is a yearly patron, custom $ patron etc. Also share info on whether you are a CUF or non CUF creator.

Yes, I did those steps. I do not sync posts.

So I think I may have figured out the issue. Since Patreon recently started accepting Australian and Canadian currency, I had an Aussie pledge $1 AUD. I have Patreon Lite and all of my WordPress blog posts are set to the $1 minimum pledge to unlock gated posts. However, this seems to be tied to a US dollar. An Australian dollar is approximately .78 US with the exchange rate. The patron subsequently upped his pledge to $5 AUD and was able to see the gated content without issue.

This seems like a bug, can it be fixed? Then again, getting patrons to up their pledge ain’t so bad either, lol.

This is odd, since this was fixed some time ago and it was confirmed on test installations.

Do you have your tiers appearing in your post editor?

I don’t have tiers. I’m on the Patreon Lite.

This still hasn’t been fixed. In addition, it now seems to be affecting other new Patrons pledging in foreign currency, even those pledging above the $1 USD equivalent!

Hi there, I had the same problem some time ago. Turned out it was my caching plugin that was interfering. changed my caching plugin and it was solved for me.

Same issue guys… still not resolved! All new patrons are unable to access the WordPress gated content.

WP 5.7.1 with PHP 7.3.28
Patreon WordPress 1.7.4 with API v2
Patreon Button, Widgets and Plugin 2.0.9

All API tokens seem to match, so that’s not the issue…

Is the issue that you dont have tier selection in your post editor, or that different currency patrons dont get access to locked posts?

I don’t need tier selection, I am on the Lite plan so there are no tiers.

So far the issue seems to only be affecting new patrons pledging in non-US currency.

Did any of those patrons gain access afterwards? What is the statuses of those patrons in patron relationship manager at patreon.com?

I think I accidentally clicked the option requiring patrons to have been a patron at the time of posting to see a post, and that was the main issue. It does seem that the non-US currency thing is still a problem, tho.

Active patron requirement does block patrons who are newer than post’s date yes.

How many patrons are affected by non US currency situation?

Sigh… I thought it was fixed, but now I’m getting complaints again. Same issue with the looping login. I don’t have the active patron requirement anymore so I don’t know what the issue is.

Do you have information on that patron? Is he or she a different currency patron?
