Hi team,
I’m in the process of migrating my Patreon-based content to a WordPress website using Paid Memberships Pro. The goal is to allow payments directly on the website without requiring users to leave.
However, I have hundreds of existing Patreon subscribers, and I don’t want to force them to cancel their Patreon memberships, create new accounts on my site, and subscribe again. That extra friction increases the likelihood of losing a significant portion of my audience, which I can’t afford.
To solve this, I purchased Patron Plugin Pro, expecting it to give me flexibility in managing access. However, I haven’t found an option to modify the following text that appears on locked content:
“To view this content, you must be a member of Henrique’s Patreon at $5.99 or more
[Button: ‘Unlock with Patreon’]
Already a qualifying Patreon member? Refresh to access this content.”
The problem is that this message encourages new users to subscribe via Patreon, when my primary goal is to generate new subscribers through my website’s payment system. The plugin should only serve to grant access to existing Patreon subscribers, not recruit new ones.
Ideally, I’d like to change the text to something like this:
“To view this content, you must be a subscriber [word ‘subscriber’ linking to the website’s Pricing page]. If you are already a subscriber on Patreon, click the button below to unlock the content.
[Button: ‘Unlock with Patreon’]”
How can I modify this text? If left unchanged, users will continue subscribing via Patreon, which defeats the entire purpose of migrating to my own platform.
Thanks for your help!
