I gifted access to my Patreon page to a test account, people I’m cooperating with, people who have helped grow my community (e.g. Discord admins), and as way for people to have a “trial membership”. Unfortunately, they can’t access the parts of my WordPress website that are locked with the Patreon WordPress Plugin.
When they click the “Unlock with Patreon” button and log in to Patreon, they get asked to purchase a membership.
I found that a workaround is to first have them log into the website using the “Login with Patreon” button on the login page and then visit the locked page. However, I’d rather not have this button on the login page (and I have the login page behind basic authentication for added security, but that’s another matter). But most importantly, this workaround is confusing for people.
Is there a way for people with gifted membership to have the same experience as paying Patrons when clicking the “Unlock with Patreon” button?
